Subject Overview

Term 1
Students learn the basics of photography both in school and on location. Working within the genre of Architecture Photography, students will learn to develop ideas in response to established practice as well as the foundations of editing and photo manipulation in Photoshop.

Term 2
Students continue to develop work to show both understanding of conventions and the development of ideas in the medium of photography. This Term they will begin their folio submission. Greater independent learning should occur during this time as students take ownership of their ideas and control of the camera. Students are encouraged to engage in regular discussions about their ideas and progress with their classroom teacher to enhance their independent learning.

Term 3

A particular focus in the latter part of this term will be extending ideas through a variety of possible outcomes.
