Year 11 Computer Science
Subject Description

This course builds on the Year 10 Computer Science curriculum, emphasizing digital content development, web programming, and innovation. Through project-based learning, students will gain proficiency in programs such as Adobe, Scratch, Visual Studio, and Premiere Pro. This course is designed to help students explore the diverse aspects of our digitally driven world.
Subject Overview
Term 1
Game Making
Students create an interactive game, puzzle or quiz with multiple levels. Students will create a presentation to pitch their idea to a game development studio.
Term 2
Web Programming
Students use programming languages HTML and CSS to develop a multi-page website that can be shared with the world.
Term 3
Video
Students create a video that showcases their media skills using Adobe. They will incorporate screen recording, audio and overlay techniques.
Term 4
Report Writing
Students develop report writing skills that will help towards future Externals and Scholarship. Students will research and generate a range of ideas, describe the chosen design, annotate sketches, and use feedback from stakeholders to improve the outcome.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites. Year 10 Computer Science is an advantage, but not essential.
