Subject Description

This course builds upon the foundational knowledge from Year 11, with a strong emphasis on creating original content, mastering web programming with current industry technologies, and understanding automation processes. The goal is to foster creativity and leadership in the digital realm, equipping students with the necessary skills to engage with real-world clients.
Subject Overview
Term 1
Research, inquiry, proposal
Students conduct an inquiry that involves research, planning and stakeholder feedback to come up with a project proposal
Term 2
Web development and automation using IFTTT
Students choose their own problem or opportunity. They will develop a functional website that may include Internet of Things (IoT) functionality.
Term 3
Presentation Video
Students use video and screen capture techniques to create a short video that describes the need/opportunity and their developed solution.
Term 4
Examination
Students present a summary of developing their digital outcome.
Prerequisites
Year 11 Computer Science or at the Head of Faculty discretion.

Assessment Information
Digital outcomes and a journal of the student’s evidence of completing the technological process both contribute to assessment.Credit Information
