Year 11 Mathematics
A full year Mathematics course is compulsory in Year 11 at Baradene College.
All students will choose to study:
- Year 11 Mathematics.
- Year 11 Mathematics Towards Calculus.
- Year 12 NCEA Level 2 Mathematics towards Calculus. If the student has completed the NCEA Level 1 (Year 11) Mathematic course in Year 10, they will enter the NCEA Level 2 Mathematics towards Calculus course.
Year 11 Mathematics
This is a general Mathematics course that that studies a wide range of topics including:
- Algebra (fundamentals)
- Right-angle triangles
- Statistics (Bivariate and Multivariate data)
- Probability
- Numeric Reasoning
- Financial Literacy
This course is suited to students who have gained mostly Achieved and Merit grades in Year 9 and Year 10 Mathematics.
It will prepare students to move into Level 2 Mathematics Towards Calculus (providing prerequisite grades are met) and/or Level 2 Mathematics Towards Statistics.
Prerequisites
Year 10 Mathematics.
